Many residents participate in the Family 5k run, stroll, and ride event since children can participate as well.
The half marathon and cycle routes see all parts of Eastern Chula Vista and there are some great views of the natural beauty in Eastlake.
100K Cycle: Experienced cyclists are challenged with scenic views of the EastLake area and neighboring hills to the east. Riding over the bridge on Hwy 125 in both directions, viewing the expanse of the countryside to the east and west of the bridge, looping past Southwestern college, the Olympic Training Center and out past Otay Lakes to the intense 7 mile climb up beautiful Honey Springs Road.
25 Mile Cycle: Follows the 100K route before curving away from the steep incline in favor of long, slow hills and smooth, flat roads to even things out.
EastLake Half Marathon & 10K: Discover why Eastlake is nicknamed “Chula Joya”, beautiful jewel, by those who know the area. The Eastlake Half Marathon & 10K showcases some of the Gems of the Chula Vista Park District, our exceptional mountain and lakeside views and well-maintained, low-traffic running trails. The course is not USATF certified, many trail courses are not certified distances as trails are difficult to certify to the accuracy of required road races.
Come out and support your fellow neighbors! This is a great event that is very close to the Otay Ranch community and will continue to grow throughout the years to come. Whether you have a New Year’s resolution of just want to get into shape, this is a great fitness event to attend in Otay Ranch.
